ALARM MONITORING

Alarm monitoring occurs through the use of IDEC Programmable Logic Controllers. These controllers lend themselves to communications with a host computer, and all functions associated with enabling, disabling, and setting timing parameters from the host computer are currently available. The PLCs are ideal for monitoring and controlling equipment because of the electrical isolation of the inputs and outputs. All outputs are relay isolated allowing control of most equipment types. The inputs can sense switch open/close or can use a supervised line input. Most applications use the switch open/close sense. These units can also sense voltages associated with temperature, pressure changes, or light intensity. Hence, they can be programmed to fit any security application. The unit can be connected to the Internet through the use of the serial hub; thus allowing easy configuration of a combination access control and alarm monitoring system.

The functions available for alarm monitoring are:
Enable/Disable alarms
Clear Alarm counter
Quiet Alarm
Visual Alarm display
Start/Stop Alarm PLC
Resize Alarm display
All alarms are monitored by the host computer and a transaction log is kept. The display is demonstrated in our DEMO by left clicking the mouse and selecting "statpan".
