ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS
Access control is achieved by using the COMTROL serial hub to connect to the optional ACAS computer system, or to the internet directly. If it goes to the internet directly, then at the recieving site a method is provided to achieve all the access control functions. For best results a 256kb DSL line is recommended. The access control functions of ACAS provide the ablility to:
Add, modify, and delete user | List user information | Change user access status |
Change user area access | Configure readers | Configure areas |
List access logs | View real-time access | Browse user files |
View persons in facility | Add, modify, or delete areas | Add, modify, or delete badge readers |
Since the PLC is already present in this configuration, the opportunity to perform alarm monitoring is available for very little cost. All transactions in this configuration are logged, and full reports can be generated, regardless of whether a local computer exists or an external computer is executing the ACAS software.
